I was born on the Caribbean island of Dominica, in the village of Marigot, in the northeastern part of the island, which is the largest settlement in Saint Andrew Parish. The villagers speak English with a Kokoy accent (dialect). Storytelling is a homegrown tradition, as my Dad would sit with us kids (his children) under the moonlight and tell us stories. Towards the middle of 1996, a marked shift happened in my life with the arrival of the internet in Dominica. I tackled the world of digital publishing, a bold move that led to the establishment of the CAKAFETE family of websites.
